In case you missed it, an art collector purchased a banana duct-taped to a gallery wall at Art Basel, Miami.
The collector paid $120,000, and the news immediately went viral.
Is it art? Is it a banana? Is it worthless now that someone went and ATE the banana?
One thing’s for sure, content creators saw the sale and are, understandably, peeved, howzabout people pay more for seriously beaut shots?
UAE based photographer Altamash posted his own joke take on #bananagate, asking for a minimum bid of $119,999 on this perfect symmetrical shot of the Burj K.

I think we somewhat agree here. I believe art is the convey of emotions and the gate towards experience; still a romantic. What differs here is that its not a postmodern art where art is not carried in the object itself but its context, allowing for toilets and bananas to be art.

The $120K banana may be gone, but I believe Granny Smith a la Washi is a worthy successor. #BananaArt #BananaGate pic.twitter.com/mrEbnqNGUY
