We’ve seen this summer’s weather and its 50 degrees reach in the UAE, and it currently averages between 43-45, it’s no wonder we have a love and hate for this weather.
Well, same goes for your cute little pets, they need a bit more TLC during this season to prevent heat strokes or hyperthermia. So here are a few fresh ways to let your little munchkins enjoy the summer with these extra precautions:
This will keep them cool and fresh before takin’ on the city’s sun!
Much like our needs, this one is no secret to the rest of us… keep your pet cool by ensuring they’ are well hydrated on H2o. Either by making sure their water dispensers are filled or even by feeding them whole- food based diets to pre-hydrate them (according to PetMD).
Another thing they could have on when it’s waaaay too hot for a walk. There’s a cooling bed version too, to keep the indoors as comfortable as it is when cold.
If you can’t find the cooling beds anywhere near you, there are DIY versions online you could try.
Even while indoors, perhaps it’s best to leave the cats running and playing when the sun isn’t at its peak outdoors.
PetMD advices people not to leave their pets in air-conditioned vehicles, even for a short period of time because “a research from Stanford University showed that the temperature inside a car can increase by upto 40 degrees Fahrenheit, regardless of the outside temperature.”
A bit of the window, air conditioning, the ceiling fan are especially important for felines who enjoy most of their time spent indoors.
Go to your local and favourite groomers and be sure to check beforehand if it’s suitable for your pet.
