While The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour and Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia are set to overtake the Burj Khalifa by 2020, for now the Downtown skyscraper IS the tallest building in the world. At 828m, the prominent feature on every tourist brochure boasts several world records. Long haul luxury travel operator Destination2 has dug deep to find and share some interesting facts about this engineering marvel.

It has an observation deck, At The Top, on the 124th floor and the elevator will take you there in roughly ONE minute

A visit during non-prime hours costs AED 125 for adults and AED 95 for children, while a visit during prime hours costs AED 200 for adults and AED 160 for children. Don’t forget to book in advance as immediate entry tickets cost a flat rate of AED 300 (but it is well worth the views). Buy your tickets here.

And if vertigo isn’t an issue, it has the world’s highest outdoor observation deck on level 148 – Burj Khalifa SKY

Tickets for this observation deck give visitors access to level 124 as well. Prices range from AED 350 (non-prime hours) to AED 500 (prime hours). You can book your tickets here.

The afternoon tea at At.mosphere, the restaurant and bar located on level 122, is popular with tourists

Prices starts from AED 320 (non-alcoholic package at a non-window table) to AED 480 (inclusive of two glasses of sparkling grape at a window table). High tea is available from noon until 4.30pm.

The building features 57 elevators and eight escalators and was made using as much aluminium as required for FIVE A380 Airbus aircrafts

The Armani hotel is located in there. It has 160 rooms, six restaurants, a nightclub and a spa

The basic room is the Armani Deluxe which features amenities personally designed by Giorgio Armani. Current room rates start from AED 1,300 for double occupancy.
