The Dubai Police app is one of many useful apps rolled out by the Dubai authorities – but I didn’t realise just HOW useful it is until this week.
I was in a minor collision earlier this week, where another car ran up the back of mine – no-one was hurt thankfully but the cars had a few scrapes.
Having not been in an accident in the past two years – I did what I thought was the proper thing, and called the police.
They asked if anyone was hurt, we said no, so they said file the report on the Dubai Police app.
I am relatively late to the party, as I haven’t been in an accident or driving for the past few years, but this service is SO HANDY.
Basically, all you have to do, is take pictures of the damage on each car, enter your licence information and the cars’ info and wham – you’re done.
It sends the report to the police, who review it, and within a couple of hours, a police report is sent to both parties’ email and phones.
Not only is it a quick solution to file reports for minor prangs, think of the massive amount of hours of valuable police time that is being saved!
The app means no police need to be called to the site, and can file the report online, rather than using field officers – who likely have more important things to do than fill out forms for fender-benders.
It’s easy to use, a quick turnaround, and helps get smaller accidents off the roads, and out of the way, faster.
Amazing!
