More Than 6.2 Million Tourists Rode The Abra In Dubai, Here’s Why You Should Too

Avatar

It’s official, the abra is the most favoured mode of marine transportation in Dubai, according to Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA). More than 6.2 million tourists rode the abra making it the number one, with water buses coming in second and ferries coming in last.

Why is the abras becoming choice of transportation, you ask?

For starters, it looks insanely Instagrammable

Just check out some of these cool shots from residents and tourists alike

No matter what angle you take the photo from, it’s sure to come out looking wondrous!

It’s inexpensive!

A traditional abra is a wooden boat that ferries people back and forth from the Old Souks to Bur Dubai for just AED 1.

If you fancy yourself something with the view of the Dubai Canal or to simply show your group of friends visiting, they also have a AED25 per/person option, with a minimum of 8 people on the boat. Looks spectacular.

A good place to inspire creativity or ‘peace of mind’

Whether you want to try new things, be in a new environment or just hear the sounds of old Dubai- riding the abra gives you the stillness of just being.

Grab your pen and paper, write a poem or just simply relish in the beauty of your surroundings.
