Netflix Has A New Lebanon-Based Arabic Show And Here’s Hoping It Does Better Than Its First

Following the released of Jinn,  the controversial first-ever Netflix original Arabic series shot in Jordan, Netflix has announced its second regionally-based show.

In what looks like a bid to capture even more of the market, the second-ever Netflix original Arabic series was shot in Lebanon and will be released this August.

DOLLAR stars Lebanese comedian Adel Karam and Algerian-Lebanese actress Amal Bouchoucha. Less teen drama, (unlike Jinn, in which the plot-line was likened to US teen shows) this production is more action, drama and a little bit of romance.

DOLLAR is set in ‘modern-day Lebanon’

Part of a increasing number of Arabic productions by Netflix, highlighting the aim of the US streaming platform to grow in the region

Unlike movies and TV shows which have separate release dates internationally, Netflix drops every show, everywhere at the same

Which means when DOLLAR drops on Netflix on August 8 it will be available to 148
million members in over 190 countries…. The world is about to see Lebanon!

Here’s hoping it performs better then Jinn, which currently sits at a poorly 3.5 on IMDB
