Summer or Ramadan hasn’t eased the social calendar for most, therefore the need for new outfits comes as no surprise. Ditch the regular retail brands for creations by regional designers instead. The Dubai Mall’s pop-up market at the Fashion Catwalk this week supports home-grown talent. These are the designers that will be showcasing their stuff everyday between 10am to 2am.

1. Arwa Al Banawi

Saudi designer Arwa Al Banawi spent a large part of her childhood in Switzerland before moving to Dubai in 2012. Her inspiration stems from a mixture of classic, contemporary and emotional ideas, including the iconic Audrey Hepburn.

2. At A Glance

Pieces from the label, At A Glance, are constructed with attention to detail and the aspiration of being timeless. There’s a strong focus on texture, embroidery and cut.

3. Chantal Designs

The Swedish-Lebanese designer launched her first collection of handbags in 2009 and ready-to-wear collection, Chantal Designs, in 2010. Her designs take inspiration from the differences between the East and the West.

4. Dima Ayad

Dubai-based Lebanese designer, Dima Ayad‘s clothes are a celebration of the female form, regardless of shape or size. She has designed a capsule prom collection for Saks Fifth Avenue.

5. Twisted Roots

Emirati designer Latifa Al Gurg started her career in construction, before creating her own label Twisted Roots, with collections inspired by different cities. She creates ready-to-wear lines that are practical yet stylish for women on the go.

6. HF By Hessa Al Falasi

Hessa Al Falasi is largely influenced by a contemporary mix of old world charm and elegant sophistication. Each garment in her collection is the result of a long and rigorous artisanal savoir-faire that creates the ultimate experience in Middle-Eastern chic.

7. Fetha 

Fetha Couture is the brainchild of Manal Al Sharhan and Neetu Mulani. It symbolises simplicity and fuses traditional patterns and embroideries with contemporary dresses, tops, trousers, kaftans and jalabiyas.
