Steve Harvey’s Story About How THAT Miss Universe Mistake Happened Had The Dubai Lynx Audience ROFL

Avatar

No one’s not heard of the infamous Steve Harvey/Miss Universe announcement stint from years back- unless you live under a rock.

Two years back, American talk-show host and writer of Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man created social media mayhem in 2015 after mistakenly announcing Miss Colombia for Miss Universe instead of the real winner, Miss Philippines’ Pia Wurtzbach.

Well, Steve is currently in Dubai for the annual Dubai Lynx festival, to do a talk with MBC Group’s session called ‘Why The Future of TV Is More TV’ and it seems he left a lasting impression among its attendees- especially after joking about the Miss Universe incident in a way that is also uplifting.

Steve cracking people up while reminiscing on his Miss Universe slip-up

“48 hours after I said the wrong name, my name had been Googled 4 billion times. I was the most famous person in the world. I did not appreciate the way God did it, really thought he could have went another route. But I was pretty famous after that.”

Those who managed to catch the session lauded the comedian-host on his ability to laugh at himself

‘LEGEND’

Peeps couldn’t wait to meet the comedian after his stage session with MBC

So many quotable moments from Harvey’s speech have made their way on Twitter

“You can’t google success & exposure”

“I’m so FLY”

SO inspiring!
