We’ve all been there.
When, for some reason or another, you need to upgrade or downgrade your package with your network service provider so you look into the options available.
Well this UAE resident wanted to downgrade when he realised that you get charged for the service….while an upgrade is completely free.
*Facepalmmmmm
I just tried to downgrade my @etisalat package…They have to charge me for a downgrade, but an upgrade is free!! The level of control telcos have here is the most frustrating thing about living in the UAE

Then came Virgin Mobile, however Virgin is purely a digital mobile service so can’t be seen as a major competitor to either du or Etisalat.
You might also have heard of Swyp, an off-set of Etisalat, which targets a younger demographic (only 15-29 year olds can apply) with a focus on internet data with cheaper rates, this was introduced as a response to the Virgin Mobile sim cards.
However with Etisalat and du as the two major players, it would be amazing to see more competitive offers for residents from either.
