Two French Restaurants Have Decided To Pay VAT Themselves So There Will Be No Price Increases

Avatar

Yeah, the tax-free life seems like a vague distance dream-like memory now that VAT is here.

And everyone is feeling a lot of emotions (and sharing them on social media) about it.

But if you were planning to dine-out less now (restaurant bills will also be charged a 5% VAT), you might want to reconsider.

Not one but TWO restaurants have confirmed they will be absorbing the VAT on certain items

No catch or condition.

Bistro Des Artes located in Dubai Marina and Publique in Souq Madinat Jumeirah will both be omitting VAT charges from some of their dishes, drinks, and offers.

For Bistro Des Artes, these included, their Friday & Saturday brunch, their business lunch, and many stand-alone dishes including Oysters, Las Master Planche, Beef Tartar, and many more.
