Dubai is aiming for an accident-free Ramadan and it’s actually a campaign. You see, when it’s almost time for Iftar, and people are still on road, they tend to speed up to reach their Iftar location. In an effort to reduce speeding, Dubai Police created the Accident-Free Ramadan campaign
The move would help raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and would let drivers know not to rush to break their fast. Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Directorate of Traffic in Dubai Police also urged drivers to abide by traffic rules during Ramadan and show patience with other drivers during fasting hours.
Police have been making it more convenient for drivers by regulating traffic and ensuring decongestion. They’ve also been facilitating the movement of worshippers who are entering or exiting mosques.
