A Dubai Boss Bans His Employees From Sending Emails Or Texts

Media and marketing companies are often hired by clients from several different industries to handle their social media accounts or conduct their marketing strategies. With that being said, these media and marketing firms have an in-house sales team to bring in these clients.

Now, that we’ve covered the basics, let’s discuss how sales teams and clients communicate. It often starts with an email, leading to a face-to-face meeting and then continues with messages. This one media company however had a different idea for how they’ll communicate with clients in the future.

The founder of this media company made an announcement to his employees that he will be banning written emails, texts and DMs

Mahdi Shafiei is the founder of a very successful Dubai-based company called Trifid Media. Everyone knows someone who worked at this company at some point. They’re innovators, they think outside of the box and have an entertaining TikTok account.

One of their most recent viral TikTok videos shows Mahdi discussing the new method of communication with his employees…

Here’s the original video below

Mahdi suggested that the team send voice notes and record videos instead of sending texts, DMs and emails to clients, in order to build an “emotional connection” with clients

The video has over 700,000 views and many people took to the comments section to share their opinions.

Several commenters pointed out that there doesn’t need to be an “emotional connection” with clients since it’s a business relationship. Many others said that this method of communication will be highly inconvenient for busy clients. Others also mentioned that this new ban should’ve been discussed with the team before it was implemented.

Depending on the client, they may not mind watching videos and listening to voice notes; however, this sounds like an awkward scenario for any introverts working in this company.
