A Passenger Who Tried To Smuggle Diamonds Worth Dh2.8m Into Dubai Has Been Nabbed

So the story goes that a smuggler planned to smuggle diamonds worth Dh2.8m into Dubai, but guess what? He didn’t even make it here. He was caught before boarding the flight to Dubai at an airport in the southern Indian city of Chennai.

The Chennai customs has even released a video of the diamonds. Gosh, there’s so many of ‘em.

He actually tried to hide them well, as he placed them inside the handle of his stroller suitcase. But, guess it wasn’t enough for him to bypass the watchful Indian customs officials.

Just an FYI, the UAE law states that any precious metals or stones valued at Dh60,000 or more must be declared at customs.
