Someone shared a photo of a Dubai Municipality worker and their official title “cleaning engineer,” started debates on Twitter
While the role does not reflect the job of an engineer, Dubai Municipality is simply using job titles that garner respect
Yes, the job itself does not resemble a typical engineer’s job, it is used as a form of respect.
Many pointed out that it’s not just that the job and the title don’t match, it’s also the salary. Others also mentioned that it takes a lot to become an engineer from an educational perspective and shouldn’t be used loosely.
