A Rare Moon Halo Was Visible Over Dubai Early This Morning And The Pictures Look Surreal

Avatar

Dubai residents were treated to a stunning sight in the sky early this morning. A phenomenon known as a 22-degree halo was visible early this morning and residents quickly captured the awe-inspiring sight.

A lunar halo or the winter halo is caused by the dispersion of light through ice particles, forming a circle around the moon. The phenomenon was visible in Dubai this morning.

The halo appeared as a rainbow-like ring with limited colours, forming a circle around the Sun, with the inside of the ring noticeably darker than the horizon.

Who saw it?!

The moon lit the city last night and photographers were out in force

Snapped from the Al Qudra Desert – how beautiful!

Residents were fascinated to spot something like this in Dubai. Some, even felt cameras don’t do justice 🙂
