Britains Plans To Scrap Quarantine For Fully-Vaccinated Arrivals From Other Countries
A day after the recent announcements for a rule change for vaccinated individuals in the UK was made, transport minister Grant Shapps announced Britain’s plans to scrap quarantine for fully-vaccinated arrivals from other countries in the coming weeks.
Shapps told Sky News on Friday that they would “want to be able to open that up for people. We’re actively working on it.” He also added that “in the next couple of weeks I’ll be able to come forward and say more about other locations in the world.”

On Thursday, Shapps announced that vaccinated British residents arriving in England from medium risk amber countries no longer needed to self-isolate on arrival
However, it seems this is due to change in the next coming weeks since the process of determining vaccination status is focused on countries that are administering WHO-approved vaccines, which differs from country to country’s varied certification systems, Shapps said.Â
In a separate interview with the BBC, Shapps said “it is easier from the European Union because they’re creating their digital passport,” as opposed to the U.S. that does not have a digitized system.
