Chirag Suri believes that there are different pathways that lead you to the big cricket arenas

It looks like there’s a future scope when children go out to play in the evenings! (besides the obvious health benefits ofcourse)

“There’s different pathways always, you know…some people never play cricket until they’re like 20-22 years old. They’ll probably be playing tape ball cricket in Deira or in Sharjah in some corner and you see a talent and then you just sort of bring him in.”

Chirag truly believes that talent and hard work will help you find a way- he adds that there are several places in the UAE that encourage the sport too.

On the controversial cricket match-fixing, Chirag says, “I’ve been in a team where this has happened”

He adds how other players don’t come to realise the foul play until their team member gets caught.

I think you play with your pride. You just got to remember why you started playing. You love the game.

He also commends the ICC for their excellent work in keeping match-fixing at bay.

But, the ICC is doing an amazing job. they’re trying to keep the game as clean as possible. Over the last couple of years, I don’t think there’s been any such incidents reported.

Chirag Suri also predicts India to arise as an unbeaten winner for this World Cup

Despite the strong competition, Chirag places his winning bets on India and Australia…with a strong lean towards India.

He finds the team to be in top form, and with the confidence that comes from playing on home soil.

Imagine they [India] win unbeaten! I’m saying they’re gonna not lose one game in the World Cup. They win this unbeaten.

He laughs that it will be a public holiday for sure back home.
