It’s 2019 and looking out for the environment and consumption of resources should be everyone’s priority right now for the future of upcoming generations. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (Dewa) has recently suggested Dubai residents change the timings of their chores that include the use of electricity to early mornings or late evenings to save energy according to local news.
The use of appliances such as washing machines, iron, dish washers or anything that consumes energy should be avoided during the day time, mainly because there is high energy demand during summers which leads to more energy being generated, more fuel being used and hence more release of carbon emissions.
Dewa had recently launched a campaign called ‘Let’s make this summer green’, which focuses on environmental sustainability and aims at raising awareness about the importance of water and energy conservation. It is the small steps that can be taken, such as changing the timings of your chores to improve the environment and making it better for now and the future.
