Dubai Schools Are Back In Session From August 28 For The 2023-24 Academic Year
Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced the key dates for the 2023-24 academic year, including the start of the new academic year and it’s a surprising one.
The 2022-23 academic year officially ended on June 23, 2023, according to KHDA. Normally the start of the school year is sometime in September.
Dubai schools are officially back for the new academic year on August 28, 2023
Yep, that’s right! Schools will officially commence on August 28, giving students and faculty a 2-month summer vacation
Schools are given some flexibility to establish their own vacation periods but must meet the minimum required school days as specified by the Ministry of Education. KHDA stated “All private schools can only tentatively communicate public holidays (like Eid, UAE National Day) to parents and confirm them once declared by the UAE government authority,” on their website.
Here are the dates highlighted by the authority:
August 28: Start of academic year
December 11: Start of winter break
January 2: Resumption of classes after winter break
March 25: Start of spring break
April 15: Resumption of classes after spring break
June 28: Academic year not to end before 28 June 2024
