In a heartbreaking turn of events, Dubai hotel workers have faced convictions following the tragic drowning of an Emirati child in one of their pools. The incident sheds light on critical safety issues within the hotel premises.
Last year on August 2, in a hotel in Al Barsha Heights, a tragic incident unfolded as a three-year-old girl entered an unattended adult pool. According to Dubai court records, the child went unnoticed for six minutes.
In addition, the Dubai Court of Appeal has further ruled that they must collectively provide the girl’s family with compensation totaling Dh200,000. Not only that, the initial ruling by Dubai Court of Misdemeanours included a penalty of deportation but was removed by the court of appeal…
He stated his wife was watching their children around 4 pm while he briefly visited the adult pool. Within minutes, he returned to find his son informing him of his sister’s tragic death.

An inspector discovered safety violations at the accident site, including a missing barrier between the children’s play area and the adult pool, as well as insufficient depth signage.
CCTV footage shown in court showed one of the lifeguards talking with guests when the child drowned.
