A total of 2,500 residents in the UAE were granted golden visas, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Dubai Media Office confirms that this is the first batch of residents to receive the golden visas.

Golden visas are long-term visas being granted to residents who impact the country, it acts as an award to cultivate the talent, innovators and creatives in the country.

‘We welcome them among us’

2,500 scientists, doctors, researchers and innovators were given the golden visa, with HH Sheikh Mohammed, the Ruler of Dubai, present as well as Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

HH Sheikh Mohammed tweeted the joyous occasion, saying…

“Today, we celebrated the first batch of 2500 scientists, researchers, innovators, investors and doctors who were granted the UAE’s golden visa. We welcome them to us and say to everyone: The UAE is the country of science and incubator of scientists, talented people and change-makers”.
