H.H Sheikh Hamdan Expresses Support For Palestine On Social Media
The UAE Royals demonstrated their support for the people of Gaza, with H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum posting a tribute to Palestine on his Instagram story (@faz3) on Sunday, October 22.
The Crown Prince of Dubai shared a picture featuring the Dome of the Rock Mosque and the Palestinian flag
As an Instagram Story, the photo showcases the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem’s Old City alongside the Palestinian flag within a historical map of Palestine. The accompanying caption reads, “Palestine. Oh God, help and support them.”
Sheikh Hamdan’s post follows President Sheikh Mohamed’s renewed call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza, which was made just a day prior
Just three days ago, the UAE sent a plane carrying 68 tonnes of vital food supplies to the Gaza Strip as part of its continued humanitarian support for the Palestinian people. The flight, carried out in collaboration with the World Food Programme, traveled to Al Arish in Egypt on Friday. The food aid is now being transported to Gaza through the Rafah crossing to assist families affected by the Israel-Gaza conflict.
Furthermore, shopping malls throughout the region will be placing donation boxes for shoppers to contribute aid. Majid Al Futtaim Shopping Malls, for instance, announced that their malls in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Fujairah are open to receiving donations. These donations can include cash, blankets, canned food, new clothing, and children’s supplies.
Additionally, the UAE President has engaged in meetings and discussions with world leaders to address regional issues.
