My Ultimate European Experience With Disney Destinations

Avatar

Growing up as a self-proclaimed Disney enthusiast, I have countless memories of being curled up on the couch and re-watching my favourite Disney movies. From learning important life lessons with Mulan and having a good laugh with Goofy, to most recently being swept away into the Frozen world of Anna and Elsa. The magic of it all never ceases to amaze me.

So, when the opportunity to see my favourite childhood characters up close presented itself, I couldn’t say no! I eagerly packed my bags and set off for a 10-day journey that would leave me with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

This is how my journey with Disney Destinations began…

Say Bonjour to the world of Disneyland Paris

My adventure began with a flight from Dubai to Paris. As soon as my feet hit the ground inside the magical kingdom, the anticipation began building.

The very first thing I noticed was the incredible attention to detail across the park, as well as the infectiously friendly vibe all around. The 30th-anniversary grand finale celebrations were in full swing and the atmosphere was positively electric.

PSSSSSST these celebrations are going on until September 30!

Our first stop during this experience was Disney’s Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel

Now, I typically wouldn’t call myself a huge Marvel buff, but boy was I in for a treat. The unique features blended the cool feel of a New York City hotel with the captivating world of Marvel.

We spent the next 2 days exploring everything from the Tower of Terror to Space Mountain and the undoubtedly best ride of all time..it’s a small world! I witnessed one of the most beautiful drone and fireworks displays of all time (and maybe got a bit emotional) and even got a Hakuna Matata from Timone and Pumba. The iconic parades were another story altogether, and the best part was getting to see all the smiling faces wherever I looked. Trust me when I say that Disneyland Paris’ 30th-anniversary celebrations are a MUST-SEE.

Next stop… full steam ahead aboard the Disney Dream!

After saying “Sea ya Later” to the enchanting land of Disney, the journey continued and I made my way to the vibrant city of Barcelona to board the Disney Dream. This was all part of the Disney Cruise Line’s 25th Silver Anniversary at Sea. This was a first for me and I didn’t really know what to expect!

The Disney Dream, as its name suggests, was a total dream come true

From the moment I stepped aboard, I was transported to a world of elegance, entertainment, and all-around fun! The ship had activities for all ages from kids clubs to a tranquil spa, a full-on movie theatre, and even a seriously cool water slide that looped around the entire ship. I had one of the most luxurious dining experiences at Michelin-level Remy and may or may not have treated myself a bit too much at Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats Shop.

As if there wasn’t enough to keep me busy on board, one of the best parts of the cruise is that we were sailing across the Mediterranean. We stopped at breathtaking ports of call like Cannes and Sorrento along the way. It was the perfect scenario, exploring Europe by day, and coming back to the enchantment of Disney by night.

The Important Deets:

While I’m definitely already mentally prepping for my next dream vacation with Disney, in the meantime, I can reflect on the unforgettable memories created. So, if you have the chance, it just might be time to start planning your vacations early this year. Trust me, you’ll have a magical time!
