Residents Flag Littering And Alcohol Consumption At A Park Near Etihad Museum
Littering is a big no no in the UAE. It’s not common to see trash on the streets or in public spaces at all. It’s a fairly clean place with municipality workers constantly making sure it’s spotless. Many influencers did the ‘white sock’ trend to see if the floors in public places are clean or not and Dubai passes that test every time.
Unfortunately, some people leave their rubbish behind instead of throwing them in the nearest bin. 2 nights ago in fact, a resident took a few photos of a park near Etihad Museum and how it had piles of rubbish.

Alcohol consumption is not illegal in the emirate; however, it can only be consumed in the privacy of a home or in licensed public places like bars, restaurants, clubs and hotels. It’s also illegal to be under the influence of alcohol in public spaces.
The punishment includes imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months and fines of up to AED100,000 if you are caught drinking in public spaces across the country. The legal drinking age in the UAE is 21 years old.
Dubai Police and Dubai Municipality are fully aware of the littering that’s been going on and it will not continue.
