A number of Dubai residents noticed a strong stench of gasoline/kerosene across the city
People have been smelling gas for the past 2 days, particularly after 3am. People noticed the smell in their apartments, cars, and on the street. This definitely raised concern among the residents.
Residents from International City, Downtown, Sheikh Zayed and all the way to Jumeirah could smell it
A number of people reported the smell on Twitter and finally, we got answers! Someone called 997 and they were informed that an oil tanker leaked oil into the sea and the strong winds picked it up and it got spread across the emirate.
Hopefully, the smell clears up and the marine life is safe, given the circumstances.
