A 3-day comic book community event is kicking off in Abu Dhabi, featuring workshops and panels from international and local artists and creators, Storm The Block by Sandstorm Comics is bringing together the world’s most creative comic book minds, and we’re all invited!

Take part in cosplay competitions, rock-paper-scissors competitions, Primal showdown card game and more…  This incredible showcase is the first-ever Sandstorm Comics event, it will focus on developing local talent and highlighting unique stories from the region and it’s happening ON YOUR DOORSTEP.

Storm The Block will put Abu Dhabi on the map for comic books and entertainment

The event focuses on nurturing the region’s comics ecosystem from within the UAE, offering distinctive opportunities to elevate local talent not only within the region but also on the global stage. Led by Mo Abedin, an Emirati industry leader, and lifelong comic book creator, the passion of the individuals creating this platform is what will make this event unmissable.

When we set out to create our own event, we knew it had to be something that represents not only the vibrancy of the region today, but provides an early look into the convergence of culture and art as we see it tomorrow, through the lens of our aspirations for Sandstorm. We believe that Storm the Block will be something that is not only unlike anything people have seen before here in Abu Dhabi, but the world at large; a true cross-section of the greatest talent in comics, influencers of global culture, and art from anywhere and everywhere.
