Suleman Is A 6-Year-Old Person Of Determination Who Is About To Complete 100km!

Avatar

Suleman is a six -year-old person of determination and he’s currently on the way to completing an incredible feat of running 100km in six weeks.

Since beginning his journey, Suleman has been pounding the pavement four times a week and it’s incredible to see how impactful the challenge has been, according to Hollie Murphy, the founder of Heroes of Hope, a homegrown Dubai non-profit which is devoted to giving people of determination the very best opportunities in sport.

Until he joined the organisation Suleman had NEVER been involved in sport and he found it difficult to engage and interact. But following regular runs with a group of local runners, he’s had a breakthrough. He’s attitude is now bubble, and he’s happy to hold hands and interact with other runners and athletes.

He’s improving every day and the journey has been full of mini-miracles

This story shows the power of the community, Hollie praised the support and everyone who has helped along the way, “the people on board are the gems of the city – The best people. It makes me very proud to be here, we have genuine people with genuine hearts”.

Runners of all ages have been joining Suleman for every run, and Heroes Of Hope athletes have joined the runs too, which is proving the major positive impact sport can have for people of determination.

Since Suleman began the personal challenge, he keeps smashing Personal Bests and this week, he cut his running time IN HALF. The idea of the 100km was born from challenges laid out by Heroes of Hope during COVID-19. At this time, Suleman gravitated towards running stairs and it was clear running was a massive tool for him.

“He’s a different child to be honest”

Previously he had major anxiety issues, now he can run by himself, away from his mum, he’s more comfortable around people and less fearful. Hollie said the improvement is truly incredible, ‘he loves people now, he’s happy to hold hands, and is very friendly as a result”.

He has set an example for other children who are now following Suleman and supporting him on his mission . I am so proud of Suleman but I could not be prouder of all our heroes who are joining him and overcoming their boundaries .
