The Dubai Metro Lines Will Soon Be Expanding By More Than 20 Kilometres

The RTA recently issued the tender for the expansion according to Middle East Project Intelligence and Tenders

The extension of the 20 km new track will have 11 new stations, with more stops for the Green Line than the Red Line.

The Green Line will extend from Al Jadaf to International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis all way over the creek through Dubai Creek Harbour to Academic City. (Yayy for the students who attend university there!). The Red Line will extend from Rashidiya (now, Centrepoint) to Mirdif City Centre.

With the added ease of the new metro stations covering areas only accessibly by cars, commuting will become simpler and traffic will likely reduce! Isn’t that the best news you’ve heard all day? *sobs in adult life*
