Sheikh Zayed, the hero and father of the UAE, was revered for many thing: kindness, compassion and his genuine interest in the growth of the UAE and its people as a whole. His granddaughter, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, shared this very sentiment in a sit-down Vogue Arabia for her April cover shoot.
Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza is the granddaughter of the late Baba Zayed, one of the founding fathers of the UAE
She is an avid horseback rider and says she’s taken this on from her father and grandfather
In her cover story with Vogue Arabia, Her Highness said “My father and grandfather were both riders and horse breeders, and they taught me at a young age to sit and ride, even when I was too small to reach the horse.”
She also added that her love for the ‘majestic animal’ immediately came upon and she developed a deep connection, hence the creation of Al Shira’aa Stables, an institution she founded almost 10 years back.

Her Highness is also a chairperson of the Fatima bint Mubarak Sports Academy, the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Ladies club, Fatima bint Hazza Cultural Foundation.

When discussing female empowerment in the UAE, highlighting the strong women of the UAE, she added in an appreciation for her grandmother saying “My grandmother HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is my mother, my role model, and my idol in this whole world.”
“Every day I am amazed by her vision and inspired by her wisdom. She is also an infinite source of love and compassion, which is felt by everyone in this nation. She is truly the Mother of the Nation and my own mentor.”
