The UAE Authorities Thwarted An Attempt To Smuggle AED3 Billion Worth Of Drugs

Local authorities were tipped off that a large sum of narcotics were being smuggled into the country. Operation Storm was a go and the authorities quickly investigated 5 shipping containers. The drugs were concealed within 651 doors and 432 decorative bars.

Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior shared a video of the drug bust. Dubai Police monitored and tracked down the suspects as well as the containers. A number of the suspects were found in neighbouring emirates.

The narcotic pills that were being smuggled were worth AED3 billion

The Dubai Police seized over 86 million tablets, about 13 tons of Captagon narcotic tablets! They noted that the drugs were meticulously hidden in iron and wooden doors. It took them several days to extract the drugs, according to the interior ministry.

The ‘Operation Storm’ stands as one of the most significant achievements of the Dubai Police!
