The UAE Has Announced A Significant Rise In COVID-19 Cases

The UAE has observed a rise in the daily corona virus cases. On Tuesday, August 18 a total of 365 people were tested positive for COVID-19 taking the toll of total cases to 64,906.

A total of 2 deaths were also recorded taking the death toll of the country to a total of 366. Meanwhile 115 new cases were announced for full recovery bringing the total recovered cases to 57,909.

More than 6 million tests have been conducted throughout the UAE till now as stated in a media briefing – conducted yesterday by Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention

After the media briefing, NCEMA UAE also tweeted a few tips and points to keep in mind when people go out and how to stay safe.

It was also reported that by monitoring and tracking cases and following up on health authorities, it has been observed that there has been an alarming increase in the number of daily cases compared to previous days, by 136 cases.

Most of the cases were due to gatherings and family and social visits without adherence to precautionary measures, such as social distancing and wearing a mask

“We are witnessing a remarkable development in the third phase of clinical trials of a potential COVID-19 vaccine in various regions of the country. The results are very reassuring, and no side effects were recorded on the volunteers.” Stated Al Owais.

“We would like to reiterate to all members of the UAE to participate in this noble humanitarian work, which will be beneficial not only to the community of the UAE, but to millions of people around the world”
