The announcement of the new UAE workweek made headlines around the world and has been all anyone can talk about in the country.
FYI – (In case you’ve been living under a rock) the UAE announced a shift for Government entities to a Mon-Fri workweek with a 1/2 day on Fridays for prayer! Yup, you heard us right – a 4.5day work week!
So, although the news came for the public sector, nothing concrete was announced for private, allowing private entities the flexibility to adjust based on their own business needs. Whilst many have not yet made the final decisions of whether to move or not, it’s a strong bet many will. Why? Working the same as the rest of the world, allows companies to align with global markets and helps make international brands more efficient!
And that’s also why Odoo Middle East, a Dubai-based IT giant is shifting its work week!
2021 has been Odoo’s year and that’s why they’re looking to grow their business family by around 200 people; basically doubling in size! They started up in Belgium until 2 employees from Odoo’s headquarters landed in Dubai. Since then they’ve had such a presence in the Middle East that they became a leader in open-source all-in-one business software.
They have an exemplary start-up work environment and they’re expanding their workspace by moving to a new office! The stimulating work environment is key and they’re providing exactly that with collaborative working spaces.
You wouldn’t need to worry about the competition and climbing up the ladder because over at Odoo, they strive for a flat hierarchy and allow everyone to take opportunities to work on a global scale.
Interested to join the Odoo family? Head on over to their site and apply!

Odoo’s weekends will become Saturday and Sunday from January 1, 2022.
