If you’re scrolling through social media in Dubai then chances are, you’ve come across someone leaving a valuable belonging in public to see if it will get stolen. The ‘Dubai safety test’ is a viral trend that does indicate how safe the emirate but it’s also a little reckless. People have left their phones and wallets on tables to see if they’ll still be there after leaving them unattended but content creator Ayman Yaman took it up a notch with his very luxurious car!

Most of the comments list places in America including Miami and New York and how this ‘safety test’ would turn sideways if it’s carried out over there. Dubai is a very safe city and of course, it helps that police are diligent in their efforts to keep it that way. Any theft that goes on will have consequences; According to Article 443 of the UAE Penal Code, any person who commits a crime of theft will be punishable with imprisonment of at least 6 months or fine. Plus, there’s CCTV pretty much everywhere so it’s also unlikely for people to be enticed to steal.
