Junaida Fernandez is a 40 year Filipina national whose act of bravery helped the Dubai Police arrest a suspicious man last week
Junaida recorded the video of a man acting strangely and trying to touch a young girl’s face. She called him out before he could make any further attempts.
Speaking about the incident, Junaida said: “I am very happy that the police caught him so quickly, and that there are no other kids at risk.”

Junaida’s quick thinking helped the issue come to light and allowed the Dubai Police to make the arrest

Showcasing precisely what a nanny should be like, Housekeeping Co welcomed Junaida to their Tadbeer Centre at Equiti Metro Station Exit 2 on Thursday, to present her with a recognition award and a series of gifts for her exemplary actions.
Junaida was gifted complimentary access to one of Housekeeping Co’s training programs, allowing her to become qualified and KHDA-certified in Child Care at Home.
She was also praised by the Dubai Police, who issued her with an award for her diligent actions.
Junaida has been working with the family for over 7 years and was taking care of their two children and friends when the incident took place
The family spoke to Housekeeping Co to express how proud they were of Junaida.
“We are so appreciative of the authorities’ quick action on this, and how they and Housekeeping Co have appreciated Junaida as an individual.”
They also voiced a sentiment that the entire community is feeling right now:
“In a country that is not your own it is so comforting to have a system in place that acts so quickly, and also people that look out for you and your kids.”
