From the name, the homely design, the positively huge sandwiches, amazing chunks of cake and a pretty special tea selection; a new JLT cafe feels exactly like something you’d find in London.
The REAL Baker Street is famous ‘cos of its connection to the original Sherlock Holmes, the quirky British detective lived at a fictional Baker Street address… and while there’s where the similarities to the private detective ends, there’s still something very British about Baker Street…
And Baker Street fits right in.
Its competitors would be spots in JLT that are welcoming, and cosy, where you would want to spend a few hours working/eating/chatting both on weekdays and the weekend – the likes of Friends Avenue, Little ERTH and Cafe Confetti.
It’s got deli-vibes
We were recommended to try the jacket potatoes and they came LOADED.
‘Inspired by contemporary European fare, JLT-based Baker Street Cafe is a cozy neighborhood eatery serving comfort food laced with love. Its door is open to everyone from desk nomads and bookworms to lunchtime busy bees and dessert aficionados. The oven is where all the action is at Baker Street Cafe – it’s loved for its indulgent baked potatoes and scrumptious range of toasted sandwiches. Additionally, it also offers a delectable range of fresh salads, all-day breakfasts, and specialty drinks.’
On top of the regular drinks, you can choose from a specialised tea menu, (AED13 for all) the ‘coffee on ice’ selection, (how good does a chilled double fudge Mocha Frappe sound?) along with a range of shakes, smoothies and juices.
DELISH.
