The south runway at Dubai International Airport will close for 45 days in April and May and Emirates has announced changes to its operation schedule in anticipation of the closure.
According to Dubai Media Office, a significant number of Emirates flights will be impacted by the closure of Dubai International Airport’s Southern Runway for maintenance between 16 April and 30 May 2019.
Emirates has announced flight schedule adjustments as the airline will see a 25% reduction in the overall number of flights operated during the 45-day period.

A second daily flight will operate to Casablanca, Morocco
Flights to Abuja, Nigeria will become a daily service
Four additional weekly flights to Accra, Ghana
One additional weekly flight to Conakry, Guinea and Dakar, Senegal
Additional flights during peak travel season to multiple European destinations
Daily flights to Zagreb, Croatia will be reduced to four times a week during the closure
To meet demand, the Airbus A380 aircraft will be used to Boston and Glasgow, during peak travel times
Flights from Bangkok to Sydney will be suspended from June 1, passengers will have flight choices provided by Emirates’ partner Qantas (the daily Dubai /Sydney service will still run)
From March 31, Emirates will suspend EK 424/425 and serve Perth with a once daily Airbus A380 service non-stop from Dubai
