PICS: The First Images Of The Hyperloop Have Been Released And It Looks So Futuristic

Avatar

Last year, the UAE was hyped with talks of the Hyperloop.

A public transport vehicle that promised to get you from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just 12 minutes sounded nearly too far-fetched to be true and when talks of autonomous flying vehicles started grabbing headlines news of the Hyperloop all but faded.

Until now.

The first images of an initial design for the Hyperloop have been released during UAE Innovation Week and it looks slick

It still promises to move at 1200 km/hour

Since the last Hyperloop update, the vehicle has come a long way in technical, engineering and economic feasibility according to HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The routes have been identified, along with the initial design which we can see now. The machine will boast deluxe interiors, cutting-edge broadcasting and display of information and entertainment materials as well as leather seats.

It will move at 1200 km/hour and yes, the vehicle still promises to get you from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in 12 minutes, transporting 10,000 passengers in both directions.

Driverless transport is the future of the UAE

HE Al Tayer unveiled the design, in collaboration with Virgin Hyperloop One,  along with several more announcements including Autonomous Pods, High-Frequency Express Buses, and the Urban Mobility Innovation Index (UMii).

Al Tayer remarked the projects are part of Dubai’s aim to become the world’s smartest city under the directive of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and ‘reflects the RTA’s strategy to transform 25% of total journeys in Dubai into driverless transport using different means by 2030.’

“When introduced in future, the Hyperloop technology will impact the town planning and the availability of parking spaces. It will revolutionize people mobility between various destinations in the city, logistical hubs like airports & ports, and shipping patterns”
