Immigration at DXB could get a whole lot easier with new technologies the airport is working on.
According to The Telegraph, Dubai International Airport has partnered with a facial recognition software firm to implement new systems that mean travellers’ faces will act as their passport.
It will then compare the scans to digital passports stored on the system, which comes from the electronic chip in physical passports.
The software is expected to be rolled out later this year.
“This is an identity that is fit for the digital age.
“Not only will it make international travel quicker and safer, but it also gives people back control of their personal digital data.”
