Towers Have Been Built To Test Run Night Swimming At This Dubai Beach

Avatar

If you’re a regular to the beach area at Umm Suqeim 1, you’ll notice it’s ever-changing landscape.

Not your regular beach, the ‘smart beach’ has got free Wi-Fi stations, a public beach library and now new ‘smart power poles’ have been erected. Each one can emit a strong light at night, enough to illuminate the sea in that area.

It’s just a test run right now, but if they prove a success, night swimming could be allowed on certain beaches in Dubai.

This is just a trial run for the 12 metre tall towers which are 100% powered by wind and solar energy

Swim anyone?
