This GORGEOUS Jumeirah Cafe Serves Up The Best Mushroom Veggie Croquettes You’ll Ever Eat

Avatar

Dubai has seen a transformation unlike any other city in the world.

From a blank desert canvas, to thriving city – first came the hotels, followed by the big chain restaurants, then, like the rest of the world, Dubai was inundated with cute cafes and breakfast spots.

And as spots come and go, it’s tricky to stand out. But we visited one newish spot last Friday that makes a very good try.

Society Cafe & Lounge is located in Jumeirah 1, it’s bright, airy, modern and as breakfasts spots go, it’s quite fancy. A visit is akin to a spa visit, you’ll come out feeling way more chilled and happy than when you entered, and isn’t that what eating out is all about…

Society is bright and beautiful

The menu is made up of a brilliant mix of breakfast options; mains, desserts, sides, pastries and a whole page devoted to caffeine

They sell over 50 plates of these incredible veggie mushroom croquettes daily – you need to try them

This tasty seafood starter is a new menu addition

The food isn’t just ‘Gram friendly, it’s actually really good

The majority of the food is rich but there’s a good mix of healthy dishes in there too

Dairy free and gluten free are well represented. The healthy options are a good shout if you want to indulge in one of the desserts after.

This breakfast bowl was healthy and filling

The ‘avo and toast looked like a garden on a plate

Possibly the most popular dish – the tables to our left and right ordered the eggs benedict which comes served in a freshly baked croissant

Caffeine gets a whole page on the menu, our kind of spot

The sun streaming through the glass panel roof means it will stay popular all summer

A great spot to chill with a coffee and a pastry

Side note – the pastries deserve a special mention

Everyone has that one thing they HAVE to order if it’s on the menu. My weakness is almond croissants. I’ve tried countless in Dubai and the almond croissants here are the business. Baked fresh every day, they come oozing in an almond cream and are the ultimate weekend treat. They’re super rich, so you probably wouldn’t indulge in one of these every day, but they are 100 percent worth a try.

Almond croissants FTW
