Here’s Exactly Why You Need To Visit Nepal Now That Flights Have Gotten A Lot Easier

Avatar

Travel to Nepal’s capital Kathmadu will become a lot easier (and perhaps cheaper) with the country’s national carrier, Nepal Airlines, announcing its plans to start flights to and from Dubai within the next two months. Anta Travels in Dubai has been appointed as the general sales agent for the flights which have been scheduled thrice a week – Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday – on the Airbus A320 aircrafts. The journey to Kathmandu is approximately four-and-a-half hours long, while the return journey is around five hours long. Here’s what one can see in Kathmandu.

1. Everest Base Camp Trek

Trekking to the base camp, at 17,590 feet, of Mount Everest (the world’s HIGHEST mountain) is perhaps one of the most thrilling (and challenging) adventures you can experience while in Nepal and is something everyone should aim to have on their life goals bucketlist. Discover historic treasures and explore Sherpa villages along the way.

2. Boudhanath

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a hemispherical structure (the largest in Nepal) that is used as a place of meditation.

3. Swayambhunath Temple

Situated on a hill, this temple boasts beautiful views of the city. Head there early if you want to spot monkeys taking in the tranquility too.

4. Garden of Dreams

This neo-classical garden was built in 1920 and the 6,895 square metres space houses three pavilions, an amphitheater, pergolas and ponds.

5. Kopan Monastery

Located on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Kopan is a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery famous for teaching Buddhism to Western foreigners.

6. Thamel

Its narrow alleys, small restaurants serving traditional food, handicraft and souvenir shops make this neighbourhood a tourist favourite.
