Yesterday, Friday the 9th of June, the UK went to the polls. The election was called a month ago by Prime Minister, Theresa May, in order to receive a mandate from the people to enter into Brexit negotiations.
David Cameron was leading the Conservative Party during the last general election but stepped down after the Brexit referendum last year, and May replaced him.
It didn’t go to plan for her Conservative Party, as they lost more seats than they had at the beginning. Now there is a hung parliament with neither party (Tories or Labour), receiving enough seats to form a majority government.
Of course, Twitter found the funny side of the situation, here are some of the best tweets from Dubai.
