Seven people have been killed in a road accident on Tuesday morning, after a bus lost control on Al Yalayes Street towards Sheikh Zayed Road. 

According to Dubai Police, the bus was carrying 41 passengers, when the driver lost control due to a tyre bursting. 

The bus collided with a truck on the other side of the road, with 35 people being injured.

The Police had to use hydraulic equipment to rescue 22 passengers from the bus, and some patients were air-lifted out of the area.

The road was subsequently closed this morning, creating traffic delays

The Dubai Police urged motorists to seek alternative routes.
