A Filipino and Yemeni man have gone on trial in Dubai.

The two were having an illegal affair for a year and when they broke up the 29-year old Filipino started an Instagram account and put pictures of the Yemeni on it calling him a homosexual. He obviously wanted revenge from the Yemeni policeman, but that got him into s*** as well.

The Yemeni told the court the Filipino wanted to harm him by posting his pictures on the social media platform. He found out about these pictures when he received a call from friends asking why he put up pictures of himself wearing the police uniform on Instagram. He claimed the Filipino wanted to be his lover. He also stated the defendant threatened him on WhatsApp by asking for AED 8,000.

The Filipino admitted to all three charges: having an illegal affair, threatening and blackmailing a policeman on WhatsApp and using the internet to breach privacy. The Yemeni faces charges of an illegal affair and will be on trial in the Misdemeanour Court reported The National.
