Dubai Is Getting The Biggest Library In the Arab World And It’s Actually Pretty Cool
A new library to be built in Dubai has just been announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
It will be built in the Dubai Creek area. No completion day is set, the proposed architectural plan is for seven stories to be built in the shape of a book…Only in Dubai eh?
The estimated cost of the building is AED 1 billion
Education is on of the four pillars of Sheikh Mohammed’s vision and this new structure is one large building block towards the improvement of education in the UAE.
It will be the world’s largest electronic library boasting over 1 million audio books, and 2 million e-books…The size and volume of books will also make it the largest library in the Arab world.
