Al-Worood school will officially shut down, following a decision from the Cassation Court part of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), it has just been announced.

The ruling follows the heartbreaking story of a four-year-old girl who died from heat exhaustion and suffocation after being left inside a school bus in October 2014.

Nizaha Ala, a KG 1 student had been travelling by school bus, in the care of the school

Four men were found guilty in court hearings following the death; including the attendant, the school supervisor and the bus driver. The owner of the transport company was also asked to serve jail time for endangering the lives of students.

The school was fined a total of AED150,000 at the time
