Confirmed: there will be no public holiday for either public or private sectors for Isra and Mi’raj.
This was expected following an alignment between the two sectors announced by the government earlier this month.
Isra and Mi’raj is a holiday observed on the 27th day of Rajab, the seventh month in the Islamic calendar. Previously, the public sector observed a holiday, however Gulf News reported today that there will be no holiday for either sector this week.
A dry night has been confirmed this Tuesday eve to mark the holiday.
The UAE Cabinet approves public holidays for the public sector for the years 2019-2020, and grants the private sector equal holidays. The decision aims at achieving a balance between the two sectors and supporting the national economy. #UAEGov pic.twitter.com/VqQqU8IBFx
