A Careem Driver Will Serve Six Months In Prison For Assaulting An Expat Worker
A taxi driver has been sentenced to six months in prison, after being found guilty of assaulting a passenger in his vehicle.
The incident took place in December last year, when the driver collected the woman in the Barsha area. The woman was a Filipina maid, new to the city and had only been in Dubai for two weeks.
The driver had her sit in the front of the vehicle and began to touch her breasts and thighs. The woman immediately pushed the man off but he proceeded to expose himself and forced her to touch him.
The driver will be deported
After arriving at the destination, the maid ran to her sponsor and relayed the story but the driver had left. They reported the situation to a police station.
