The Ministry of Health has announced a number of products that can’t be sold in stores in the UAE after being alerted by the Food and Drug Administration. Two of these products are Stiff Bull Herbal Coffee and Zi Su Body Fat Health.
The first is a coffee that claims to boost sexual performance. It contains desmethyl carbodenafil, which is similar to Viagra, and the second is a weight loss drug. Both products can raise blood pressure.
The assistant under-secretary for public policy and licensing at the UAE Ministry of Health, Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, said these products contained unregistered and undeclared drug ingredients which ‘may be harmful to health and well-being of patients suffering from cardiac disorders and diabetes’.
