Nearly 5,000 social media accounts have been shut down for selling counterfeit goods, according to the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai, and it’s particularly noticeable on Instagram.
Popular hashtags including #MyDubai and #LovinDubai (shameless plug) have been littered with pictures trying to sell products from shoes to handbags, clothing and jewellry, but they look to have been cleaned up.

For physical stores – you can call 600545555, and Consumer Rights Dubai is available on social media to report cases to.
